A brown centre, two layers of petals and a leaf.
DK cotton in brown, yellow and green, a 3.5 mm hook, a needle, and floral wire and tape for a stem.
In brown, work a flat circle: 6 single crochet in a magic ring, then increase to 24 stitches.
In yellow, work 12 pointed petals into the front loops, then a second layer into the back loops behind them.
Chain 10 and work down one side and back up the other. Make one or two leaves for each flower.
Add two more rounds to the centre and one layer of 18 petals for a coaster that stands up to hot mugs.
