Crochet a Snowflake in Minutes

Three free patterns: mini, classic and large. Each takes 10 to 20 minutes.

What you need

Size 3 white cotton thread, a 2.5 mm hook, rust-proof pins and white craft glue.

Step 1: Start with a ring

Chain 6 and join into a ring. Work 12 single crochet into the ring.

Step 2: Make six loops

Chain 5, skip a stitch, single crochet in the next. Repeat around for six chain loops.

Step 3: Fill each loop

In every loop work sc, hdc, dc, a picot, dc, hdc, sc. That gives six arms, each with a pointed tip.

Step 4: Pin and stiffen

It comes off the hook curled. Soak it in glue and water, pin out the six arms and let it dry hard.

Hang them everywhere

On the tree, in a window or on a gift. The full guide has all three patterns with checked stitch counts.
