Crochet a Cute Turtle From Simple Shapes

A free amigurumi pattern, about 11 cm long.

What you need

DK cotton in green, brown and cream, a 3.5 mm hook, safety eyes, stuffing, a stitch marker and a needle.

Step 1: Crochet the shell

In brown, increase to 36 stitches and work 4 plain rounds for a shallow dome.

Step 2: Make seven pieces

The shell, a cream belly, a green head, four flat flippers and a small tail.

Step 3: Pin and sew

Pin the head just below the shell's edge, tilted up slightly, then sew on the flippers and tail.

Give it a shell of its own

Embroider lines, add spots or stripes, or make a baby turtle. Every round is in the full pattern.
