Two beginner patterns: one round, one square.
Worsted-weight cotton yarn, a 4 mm hook, scissors and a needle.
Work 12 double crochet into a magic ring, then increase to 24 and 36 stitches and finish with an edging round.
Chain 16, work 16 rows of single crochet, then add a border with 3 stitches in each corner.
Cream and oat suit any room. Sage, terracotta and mustard look warm on wood.
