Learn one square, then turn it into a blanket.
Worsted-weight yarn in a few colours and a 5 mm hook. Each square is about 13 cm after four rounds.
Work four clusters of 3 double crochet into a ring, with 2 chains between them for the corners.
Hold two squares together and slip stitch or single crochet along the edge. One length of yarn joins a whole row.
Work a granny round around the whole blanket, with a (3 dc, chain 2, 3 dc) corner at each corner.
Keep adding rounds until it's the size of a blanket. How many squares each size needs is in the full pattern.
