Privacy choices

This page is where you control the optional technology on AlixaCrochet. Your current choices are shown in the box above, and you can change them as often as you like. Reading the site never depends on what you choose: every article stays available either way.

What is always on

A few things are needed for the site to work, so they can't be switched off:

• Your saved choices. One first-party cookie named consent remembers what you chose, so you aren't asked again on every page. It holds only your choices and the date you made them, and it's kept for 180 days.
• Security and server logs. Our hosting provider records technical details of each request (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) to keep the site secure and working.
• Editor login. A login cookie exists only for the people who write the site, in the private dashboard. Visitors never receive it.

What you can choose

Each option below appears in the box above only when that service is switched on for the site. If the box says there is nothing to choose, none of them is in use.

Analytics and performance measurement

Analytics shows us which articles people read, roughly where visitors come from and on which kind of device. Performance measurement records anonymous page-speed figures (Core Web Vitals) together with the kind of page, with no cookies or page addresses attached. We use both to decide what to write next and to keep pages fast.

If you say no, nothing changes for you. We simply don't see your visit in our statistics.

Advertising

Advertising pays for the site, so the patterns and tutorials can stay free. When it's enabled and you agree, ad providers such as Google may use cookies or similar technologies to show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, prevent fraud and measure results.

If you say no, ad spaces are hidden.

Personalized ads

This is a separate choice inside advertising. Personalized ads are chosen using information about your interests, based on your visits to this and other websites. Without it, any ads you see are based only on the page you're reading and your general location.

Global Privacy Control

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request not to sell or share your personal information. Ads on this site are then never personalized, whatever is ticked above, and the personalized-ads option is switched off for you.

How long choices last, and how to withdraw them

• Your choices are kept for 180 days, then we ask again.
• You can change or withdraw them on this page at any time. A withdrawal takes full effect from the next page you open.
• Deleting cookies in your browser also removes your saved choices, so you'll be asked again on your next visit.

Other ways to control tracking

• Your browser. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, and several block third-party trackers by default.
• Google's ad settings. You can switch off personalized advertising from Google in My Ad Center.
• Industry opt-out pages. YourAdChoices (United States) and Your Online Choices (Europe) let you opt out of interest-based ads from many companies at once.
